Consultation
We want to get to know you. The truth is anyone can wear a hat. Wearing it well is another story. A hat should fit your style, personality, and one that inspires confidence. Your face shape is an important consideration when deciding on your creation, as in your skin tone, hair color and other factors that our designer will explore with you during this stage of the process.
material selection
We will have an in person or zoom meeting to discuss what felt colors and materials are available. This allows your maker to get a sense of your style that you will like for your hat. This includes color combos, flowers, feathers, any personal touches you would like to add, etc.
brim design
Brim design can go many ways . We can keep it as clean as possible or we can get funky. Most importantly we need to know if you would like a short brim, standard size or wide brim. These will all be explained with your maker during your in person or zoom consultation.
shaping
Shaping your hat is created by re steaming the top of your hat and is created all by hand, just like the rest of your masterpiece. It is one of the best parts because just like when it comes to creating your hat, there are no rules. Whether we do a an open crown, standard fedora style or cowboy style, there are no rules as to how you would like your hat shaped.
sewing in your leather sweatband
Everything at the Millinery is proudly done by hand. This includes your leather Sweatband. By doing this we secure your band tightly to your custom hat.
styling
This is where your style is truly shown. Watch your color palette come to life! From feathers, flowers, leather bands, you name it we can add it!
burning
Burning also known as distressing, gives your hat a vintage style. This gives your hat a very unique look. You can do as little as you want or as much as you would like.
